A Great Battle and a Crazy Angel

in Uncategorized on 21/01/14

It started with playdoh. You were supposed to make some for your kid’s class this month, and you did but you didn’t make enough. You knew you didn’t make enough and you had time to make more but you didn’t feel like it. There were other things you wanted to do on the weekend more then mix together cream of… View Post

She + She + Us

in Uncategorized on 16/01/14

I’m always looking around for ideas to try for blog posts, and thought this one from Elise Blaha Cripe was a fun one. {She} still loves picking out her own outfits and accessories; loves princesses (but also Olaf the Snowman and all her dinosaurs); enjoys listening to books on tape, playing with stickers, painting and coloring, and absolutely adores taking… View Post

Hi! I’m Callie. I’m a writer and teacher living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I write Creative Nonfiction, and in my oldest daughter Hadley’s words, I “use my imagination to add a bit of sparkle to the story.” I’m a contributor for Coffee+Crumbs, Off the Page, Makes You Mom, and Relief Journal. My writing has also been featured on Art House America, Tweetspeak Poetry, Good Letters, and Altarwork, and in 2014 I was one of the cast members of the Listen To Your Mother DC show.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University, and I am working on my first book that will be published through TS Poetry Press.

Have a look around and be sure to subscribe to the blog. Thanks for stopping by!
