On Their Way

in Uncategorized on 02/01/12

The stories from Christmas are bumping around in my head as I pick up pine needles from places I didn’t even know existed in our home.  I’m not sure when I’ll get them all out – the stories or the needles.  I like to let stuff simmer for a bit so it might not be until a summer day in… View Post

Merry Christmas

Minutes before these pictures were taken, Harper was rolling on the floor screaming because we wouldn’t let her wear her tennis shoes with the dress she’s wearing.  Meanwhile, we were telling Hadley to stop pulling her dress over her head. I got them to smile by standing behind Jesse and yelling, “POOP!” as he took the picture. You do what… View Post

Hi! I’m Callie. I’m a writer and teacher living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I write Creative Nonfiction, and in my oldest daughter Hadley’s words, I “use my imagination to add a bit of sparkle to the story.” I’m a contributor for Coffee+Crumbs, Off the Page, Makes You Mom, and Relief Journal. My writing has also been featured on Art House America, Tweetspeak Poetry, Good Letters, and Altarwork, and in 2014 I was one of the cast members of the Listen To Your Mother DC show.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University, and I am working on my first book that will be published through TS Poetry Press.
