On A Wednesday: Part One

in Uncategorized on 13/03/12

This is a picture of the girls on Harper’s first day of school. In January, she started a program at the school Hadley goes to that runs once a week. This means that for about four hours I am free to do what I want. On this first morning I got up early to go to the gym. A new… View Post

Not a Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

in Uncategorized on 08/03/12

We went to see the play Alexander’s Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day last weekend at Adventure Theatre in Glen Echo Park. To get to the theatre, you take a very pleasant walk through the woods,  and across bridges.  It’s lovely and genius because by the time the kids have walked along the path and oohed and ahhed at nature,… View Post

Hi! I’m Callie. I’m a writer and teacher living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I write Creative Nonfiction, and in my oldest daughter Hadley’s words, I “use my imagination to add a bit of sparkle to the story.” I’m a contributor for Coffee+Crumbs, Off the Page, Makes You Mom, and Relief Journal. My writing has also been featured on Art House America, Tweetspeak Poetry, Good Letters, and Altarwork, and in 2014 I was one of the cast members of the Listen To Your Mother DC show.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University, and I am working on my first book that will be published through TS Poetry Press.
