She’ll Let You Know

in Uncategorized on 09/02/12

Harper sometimes likes to take a clipboard with a picture she is working on along with her when we go to pick Hadley and Maya up from school.  Last week, as Maya was getting out of the car, she looked at what Harper was working on and said, “Woah.  That is really good.” “That IS really good, Harper,” I say. … View Post

Getting Ready for Valentine’s Day

The nice think about this blog is you are just not sure what you are going to get when you come visit.  Is Callie going to talk about gym shorts?  Will she talk about the time she called an elderly lady a jerk? Perhaps you’ll stop by and read about Harper squashing a caterpillar on a warm spring day.  The… View Post

A Letter

Dear Hadley and Harper, I like to take an aerobics class that is particularly hard for me to keep up with.  The issue isn’t a matter of endurance, it is that the footwork is difficult.  Just when I think I have the steps down, the instructor moves to the next part of the routine, or adds a few steps in… View Post

Hi! I’m Callie. I’m a writer and teacher living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I write Creative Nonfiction, and in my oldest daughter Hadley’s words, I “use my imagination to add a bit of sparkle to the story.” I’m a contributor for Coffee+Crumbs, Off the Page, Makes You Mom, and Relief Journal. My writing has also been featured on Art House America, Tweetspeak Poetry, Good Letters, and Altarwork, and in 2014 I was one of the cast members of the Listen To Your Mother DC show.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University, and I am working on my first book that will be published through TS Poetry Press.

Have a look around and be sure to subscribe to the blog. Thanks for stopping by!
