Introducing: Heart to Page

in Uncategorized on 11/07/23

Once upon a time, you finished reading a book that opened up a door and expanded your world, and you closed the cover and said, “I want to do that. I want to try that.”

Once upon a time, you scribbled notes in the margins of another book – ideas for stories, reflections, questions. You twirled your pen and wondered with a sort of electricity, “What if I wrote a story?”

Once upon a time, you found a seed of a story, and it delighted you. It intrigued you. It grew and it grew, and it begged to be attended to.

What if once upon a time is now?

This September, I am taking a small cohort of writers through a nine-month book writing course called “Heart to Page,” and I would love for you to consider applying.

Details are here.

Sample schedule and activities here.

Why not start that once upon a time now? Your story is waiting.

Hi! I’m Callie. I’m a writer and teacher living in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I write Creative Nonfiction, and in my oldest daughter Hadley’s words, I “use my imagination to add a bit of sparkle to the story.” I’m a contributor for Coffee+Crumbs, Off the Page, Makes You Mom, and Relief Journal. My writing has also been featured on Art House America, Tweetspeak Poetry, Good Letters, and Altarwork, and in 2014 I was one of the cast members of the Listen To Your Mother DC show.

I hold an MFA in Creative Writing from Seattle Pacific University, and I am working on my first book that will be published through TS Poetry Press.
