The girls’ favorite Christmas book is A Charlie Brown Christmas, which I don’t mind at all. Very cute story, and there are buttons you press throughout the story that play the songs and characters’ voices.
We also have the movie which the girls have been enjoying all week. And on Saturday, we took them to The Black Rock Center for the Arts to see the show and hear a live performance by the Eric Byrd Trio. It was fantastic. The girls loved the show and the music.
Before the show, there were tables set up for the kids to make Christmas cards and snowflakes.
They also served Oreo cookies with red frosting in the middle, and hot chocolate. The girls hated those as you might imagine.
Hadley made a list before we left and asked me to take it along. It says what it is we would be doing that day: “TV (meaning, the Charlie Brown show), Song, Activities, and Out to Dinner.” Throughout the afternoon she would ask me for the list so she could check each thing off as we completed it.
To quote Monica from “Friends,” “My mother always did that….I never knew it was weird.”
At any rate, it was a fun outing.
